Glad to see no one put you off this time. Easiest ride out of the year. No one to worry about as you're just doing your thing.
Let me know if you want some led laps to get the lines right.

Yes, that would be great, thanks. Will need to play some games on the PS4 to get used to it.....and watch YouTube channels :)

Not a good idea Amit, although it may seem logical. The track will look completely different from a first person perspective. Spend your first sessions learning where the track goes and then work on one corner at a time. Over the day you will find bits you like and bits you dont, then come see me because the bits you dont like will likely be down to your lines and speed. By the end of the day you will come away with a good knowledge of the track and more confidence in what the bike will do.

The general standard of track riding at the start of the day is poor in that most riders dont carry enough speed to make the lines work the way they should. This is completely understandable due to the novice nature of the event. You will generally find most people who listen to instruction will progress way beyond their own expectations by the time they have finished. You will have a great time.

Have people booked hotels yet, if so where? I stayed at Breckland Lodge last year, as did many others, but that's closed due to a fire. Also, Robert said there would likely be a curry on the Monday, where would that be?

Normally the curry is the same place. I?ll be at my folks far side of the city.

Tbh most of the b&b?s are good.

Several are staying at the Griffin in Attleborough, curry venuev100 yds.

Great to see the interest is growing, I feel much better today and if I progress a bit more I may be able to ride my 1200 R S.

May 8th has only about 6 places left.

Can forum members let me know if they are on this list? I only recognise Andy, Tim, Amit for sure. I don't know if these are all RR's but I expect not as Tim is on an R.

Hi Robert, so very glad that you are making progress with your recovery, such a shame I couldn't make either day. Would be good to catch up sometime.

Best Regards

Phil

Hi, done a few miles on the RR, it's probably easier than the RS as long as you don't open the gas too much, I do have A C Schnitzer flat bars though. I can still fit a few more into Snetterton on the 8th May, not long now!!!

Hi, before the news I must draw your attention to the General Data Protection Act, the only information I hold about you is your email address. My P.C. is protected by a password, no address will be passed to another organisation without your permission.

The first event we are invited to is the Adventure Bike Shops open day on Sunday, 29th April, guest speakers and other attractions including BMW's new dealership nearby. It's at Sudbury, Inca Business Park, Melford Road, CO10 0BB.

Our first Snetterton day is nearly here, May 8th, I can still squeeze 3 more riders in. Even if you're not interested in taking part spectators are welcome, there's a cafe open all day, come and see the most varied collection of bikes and participants to ride a track day, S1000RR's to single cylinder multi purpose machines, 21 to 76 years old riders!!!

You may be aware one of our team has opened a BMW dealership in Suffolk, they have booked Folembray circuit in France for the 16th July, the deal includes channel crossing, hotel, open pit lane on circuit and instruction. For more info it's Reiten Motorrad, Glemsford, Suffolk, 01787 471060, or facebook, David Halsall.

I have ridden Folembray circuit 4 or more times, it's a very flowing track, the challenge of combining the hairpin with the next right, at the far end, then braking deep into the final section are parts you will never tire of.

Our Cadwell day on the 23rd July has been fully booked for months, spectators are again welcome, cafe open all day.

Following our day on the Monday, MSV are running their once a year 'Road Bike Only' day, it's usually an easy going trouble free event, I've just had conformation they can offer 10 % discount, you have to phone them, 01474 875214 or 875226, quote BMW club, give them your card details, when we have the minimum number to qualify for the discount they debit your card. I've also been told it's filling fast.

Our second Snetterton day, August 8th, has a few places left to fill, I expect the newcomers to the first event to take the remaining slots after they see what we do.

Anyone interested in a track day at Spa Francorchamps, (Belgium), riding the Nurburgring or just having a few days in the Ardenne/Eifel region our friends Neil and Ann Leigh run 'motorsport lodgings' in that area, search aeaventures for their website.

Neil is an instructor for the German Motorrad magazine, they hold bike only learning courses, this year it's the end of August, the only safe way to experience the most challenging race track in the world. It's very expensive but you get the opportunity to mix with extraordinary people, there's normally a dozen or more Brits there.

That's it for now, I'm still making progress with the recovery from my fall from the ladder, still very weak but able to ride a bike, thanks R B.
