Engine management problem

Good evening all

I went out to have a spirited ride today and everything was fine for the 1st 20 odd miles. I decided to fill up at a garage I don't normally use and carried on for a few more miles. The bike felt different like it was struggling and seems not to be firing too well, it also lacked torque and was a bit hesitant over 8k.

The next thing I know the engine message comes up with ' engine! Have it checked by a specialist workshop.

I limped home and ran it a few times from cold, it seems lumpier than usual on the start. Everytime I started it, it stated checks were ok then when it idled it threw the message up again.

I only have an akrapovic stubby slip on, so it isn't as if it is a full system, and the can has been on for months without any problems.

Anybody else had this issue, or can point me in the direction of a fix. I did speak to my dealership but they said it sounds ,I've I have a full system on!!! I said I hadn't and they were saying that if I had done anything it would invalidate warranty. It is now booked in to them next week, so should I have to out the stock can on to be safe?

Will post some pictures and videos if I can, thanks in advance. Oh, and I checked with the garage I had put the right fuel in, and I had!

if it was mine i would dump fuel and try some for your normal garage. could just be shit fuel.

Cheers, it does seem coincidental that it only started after I had fuelled up... normally only put v power in her, had about 50 miles left so topped up ?11 quids worth of Gulf premium unleaded, then about 12 miles after she started playing up.

Have you messed with the exhaust valve cables? That can cause the engine mgmt to throw a wobbler.

Nope not at all, looking likely it may be coil pack gone according to a few on owners page on fb
