Thats strange because there are lots of differences between the models.I was going to change from my 22 to new one and have test ridden one twice now I had one for a day from Sycamore when bike was in for service couple of weeks back.
I really cant feel any difference at all, So would be buying for wings which i do love and new rear end so just left it as only had bike a year now and done a fair bit to it. Even though they did say they would swap everything over on to new one for me.
I do love the look of new 23 model looks great. maybe a bit later on poss lol
Mine was like that before I had it setup now it feels amazing

Its the reason i just bought a 23 because the model before i didnt like that much.
The 23 has different geometry and different feel on the front end which is alot more to my liking.
Also the electronics are superb on it now.
Plus a few little changes which i think improve it.
Not to mention the looks
Yes DDC version.
I found it very stiff on the rear end and just didnt feel right compared to my last Gen 3.
I took the bike to Perry (Leask Racing) he used to be at HM racing.
He worked on the bike for nearly a day and made all different adjustments including rear height and made slight adjustments to front fork height too.
Had me on and off the bike and kept taking it out to try.
On way home bike felt like another bike and since has been amazing on road and track.
Did Perry say what adjustments he made? Did he give you a list of "before and after " adjustments? I too find mine too firm, but, with the DDC its not possible (as far as I know) to adjust the actual damping. Changing the front or rear ride hight won't make the bike softer. There is also no preload to take off, you can only add it.
Also, which mode are riding in?
Heres a video on mine showing some issues I have with the 2023 DDC.

I see why could think that.Seems like your glass is half empty.
I usually do my own suspension, ive done about 10 sets of forks in the last year.No bike is going to be all things to all men. You're above average height and weight compared to most riders. So as you know need, a specialist to sort out your springs and damping. When I started riding Japanese bikes years ago, people complained they were built for midgets. Now the seat height is high for me on the R1. And I reckon super sticky tyres make as much difference as a few geometry tweaks here and there, on the road at least.
Yes I have the paper work before and after and set up different settings on each Pro Modes.
He did have the rear shock out of the bike.
All I can say it is like night and day, I found it so hard before, And used to rocket me out of seat and i was not enjoying it.
He is a great guy and so helpful, He even asked me to call him when I took it on track next and send him pics of tyre wear.
Cant you set up a pro mode to be the same as the road mode so you can adjust the suspension?Ah, Pro Modes, that explains it then. Thanks.
Doesn't really help me as I ride in the road modes on the road.
I think the switch from Sachs DDC to Marzocchi was a retro grade move. I'm still struggling with the fact you can spend ?25K on a bike with no ability to alter the suspension while in road modes!
In the pre'23 you lose bluetooth/nav in the pro modes. Which is why people stick to the defaults.Cant you set up a pro mode to be the same as the road mode so you can adjust the suspension?
