New to the forum, just wanted to say Hi!

Owned a few bikes over the years but never owned a bmw bike. I’m a big bmw car fan and own a few m cars and I think it’s only the right thing to do and buy a bmw bike!

Been riding many years but had a break just before covid and now got the itch to get back on a bike again and decided I’m going for a S1K.

So on the hunt for a nice genuine gen 3 bike.

Thanks! Looking for a 2017-2018 in motorsport colours with all the toys on it. Absolutely love the gen4 but from the research Iv done not so reliable?

Gen4/5 needs some care. Using the right oil and making sure it's well up to temp before getting wringing its neck. There have been some blocks destroyed for sure, more than the K46 in its later life. Coil packs died on early models, oil and water pump failures too. But most things were covered by warranty.

thanks for the advice. defo avoiding gen3 for now unless a right one comes up at bmw as most give a 2 year warranty

I sold a Gen3 for a Gen5...love it

Yep the steering is phenomenal for one on Gen 4/5.
