Camshaft failure

same issue here, 10k miles, bike gives up. dealer knows nothing of a reoccurring fault with 2010 model until they slipped up and told me 2 bikes have had engine replacements because of this issue! they now want me to pay £1300 labour charge as the bike is out of warranty. im loathed to pay this as i still feel this is a manufacturing defect not misuse of the bike. im pondering how i respond to this so advice welcome. not a happy bmw customer..bmw = quality.. not anymore in my eyes.

If you're not happy with the dealers' offer mention that you will go to BMW UK, see if they're willing to 'negotiate'....

Hi guys my missus s1000 rr is in motorad edinburgh with camshaft lobe wear it's 2010 model 22000miles , Does anybody know how many we have heard of now with premature camshaft wear....cheers. I believe East Kilbride have one in there workshop just now with the same issues...
