What is your guys biking history and which bikes have you had?
Me personally in order:

2013 Aprilia RS 125 - When I was 17 first ever bike
2007 Aprilia SXV 550
2009 Aprilia SXV 550
2006 Yamaha R6
2008 Aprilia SXV 550
2007 Suzuki GSXR 600 - Owned this bike for a week (Didn't like)
2009 Yamaha R6
2009 Yamaha R1 - Owned this bike for a week (Didn't like)
2009 Yamaha R6
2010 BMW S1000RR
2015 BMW S1000RR - Age 21

I started off on a PW 50 at the age of 4... I then moved up to a TY80 at about 6. Lovely bike
Bultaco sherco 200 when I was in my teens...

My first road bike was a Yamaha TZR 50 at 16, at 17 I got a WR125 for a couple of weeks but it was a complete wet lettuce. I then got a CBR 125 '05 great bike but looking back idk how I managed with tyres that thin!?
I passed my test at 17 and my first (restricted) big bike was a VFR 400 NC21 loved it to bits for 6 months then I got a CBR 600Fs, then my beloved VFR 750F, 2015 S1000RR, 2016 S1000RR

It's unlikely that I'll change again for the next few years as there's nothing out there that is better than the S IMO

Got my first bike which was an MZ50 when I was 16, I've owned 21 bikes in total, currently have a gen3 RR and a '15GSA, if I buy another sports bike it'll be the next S1K but then again I may get rid of both and go for something different

Did direct access at 22;

'96 Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat
'06 Kawasaki ZX6-R Ninja - first ever track days
'58 KTM 990 Adventure - 40,000 miles in 3 yrs all over Europe, awesome bike
'10 KTM 990 SMT - Spent at least half it's life on one wheel, proper giggle
'58 Yamaha FJR1300 - Rocket-propelled armchair, Mrs Ed loved it.
'13 KTM 990 Adventure R - Rode the length of Portugal off-road on this, wish I'd kept it.
'14 KTM 1190 RC8-R
'12 KTM RC8-R Track - Absolute animal, 173 bhp and 96lb/ft torque. Chucked me at the scenery several times
'15 KTM RC 390 Cup
'17 S1000RR Sport

and looks like I'm about to buy a fully restored, mint '96 CRM250 to take over to the IoM this summer. Old school 2 stroke trailie.

Passed test in '96 (before the new laws came into force in '97) - passed on a CG125
Bought a 1991 ZZR600 (awsome bike)
8 months later, bought a 1996 Blackbird - brill bike
1999, 20th May bought a brand new R1 (T-reg) - scary edgy bike - long story - sold it with 2200 miles on the clock
Sold the R1 8 years later & went bike-less for a few months
Bought a 2004 Bandit 1200 - meh
Year later, bought a 2008 CB1300 - double meh
After that bought a 2008 FZ1 - enjoyed that, good fun
Then, Nov 2016 bought the gen 3 S1K - havent stopped smiling since

Passed before the laws changed so I was limited to 33.6bhp for 2 years

Riding history:
16 - Scoot d'exec (still have fully electric equivalent of a 50cc scooter)
17 - Honda Varadero 125
17 - V Strom 650 (still have, now at 29k miles) originally limited for 2 years.
20 - Triumph Daytona 675 (2013)
23 - Triumph Daytona 675 (2013, ABS)
23 - Triumph Daytona 675 (2016 ABS)
24 - BMW S1000RR 2016 Sport

OP - youll notice a massive difference between the years of your bikes
Fuel injectors have doubled per cylinder since the R1 the S1k will be far more refined

You should of seen the faces of the motorrad staff when I turned up having not ridden a bike since passing my test 3 years earlier and 6 months out of spinal surgery (It was the bike with the most comfortable riding position strangely) turning up asking to take out their s1k demo bike....

He thought I was joking and then to his horror I asked him for help doing up my helmet as I hadn't had one with the same fitting straps before....

He proceeded to run a book with the staff giving odds on both me and or the bike coming back alive...
