Hi has anybody done this modification? Interested for any feedback as my track bike is running hot and pushing coolant into the expansion tank after every 20 min session. I am going to fit an upgraded cap from reactive parts as this should help.
If anybody has one of these radiators and hose kits for sale I will be interested, as no longer available new from alfa!

Does the cooling system retain pressure after the bike cools? (there is an issue with heads lifting under hard use)

Yes have left it with pressure tester on overnight and still some pressure in morning and no coolant loss after it been very run up to temp the previous day.

Try running it on the stands so that it gets proper hot and cycles through the fans on / fans off process a few times and see if it retains any excess pressure after that.............if it doesn't then possibly a head bolt issue.

radiators do clog up with road crap, put a pattern one on mine running temps much better at slow speed

OK cheers thanks for the feedback I ran it with the pressure tester on and can watch the pressure rise to about 1.1 bar then the fan kicks in at about 98c and the pressure drops back below 1 bar until the fan stopes. Have watched it do this a few times.
I have now got a 1.8 bar pressure cap to replace the standard 1.2 one, but won't be able to test untill next on track day.
I think the extra cooling from an additional radiator would help though, as it has been running hot since it's remap because it runns leaner than it originally did.
Be nice to know if anybody had done the extra rad mod on here.

When I had the issue, it would fill the expansion bottle over the course of a track day even with an uprated rad cap and wouldn't suck it back as the bike cooled - you could hear the pressure being released into the expansion bottle if you slowly open the rad cap after a few days. If I ran it with no load then it would behave as normal.

Sounds familiar so did you replace the head gasket and bolts?

No problem. 👍
I posted the part number so you could do a search. Some places still have them in stock.

Failing that, you could get a rad kit from the link I provided.
