Is anyone else on the forum going to Silverstone this year?

We'll be setting up camp sometime tomorrow and will begin the pickling process shortly after. If anyone else is going, we should arrange a meet-up so you can buy me a beer.

....and if you are not going to Silverstone this weekend, DON'T break down, because every recovery truck in UK will be within 50 miles of Silverstone!

..... at least that's what the operator told me last year when I did break down, and that there would be min. 3 hour wait for assistance. Happily it was only my new K13 suffering a well known hot start issue, and I only sat there 1.5 hours until it cooled down enough to start..

A BMW garage will usually send their own van out to you if you are stuck...

I'm back and sunburned from Silverstone - how often does that happen!?

We had a fantastic weekend, some excellent racing, day of champions auction/entertainment and paddock passes for Thursday (which was brill). I managed to win one of the auctions to get a pair of paddock passes for Sunday and 'appearance on the podium for all 3 classes - even we dont get to do that!' ... or so Suzy and Gavin said - this transpired to be wrong, and it was only the ability to be near the podium.

As I'd donated the prize to my daughter (18th birthday) and to Keith (the guy that binned his bike the day after buying it) I was a bit miffed, so complained, resulting in the lovely lady from 2wheelsforlife wrangling them both front row seats for the post race conference. If you watch it, right at the very end as the riders are about to leave, you'll see Keith (the bald dude in the yellow t-shirt) getting up to collar Rossi for a photo :)

They had a fantastic day meeting lots of famous people, tons of selfies and my daughter got her iPhone signed by Mr Rossi himself - so she's over the moon.

Woodlands was brill as usual, excepting the big 'discussion' we had to get on/off site as they had a total vehicle lock-down over the weekend. We did stay the extra night to avoid the huge traffic jams getting out of the car parks so we arrived home at lunchtime yesterday all nicely chilled out. Top weekend.

Nice work, glad you had a cracking day.

DesmoDovi is starting to look like a champion!

I too had three days at Sunny Silverstone and really enjoyed the whole weekend. Luffield is where I parked may ass for three days. On the whole thought Silverstone did a decent job and seem like they are putting the effort in going forwards.
Getting away after the race was a nightmare, although not sure what else they can do better and it certainly didn't ruin the weekend.
Beer and Burgers are pricey, however thats my fault for not taking own food, just can't be arsed tbh.
Will defiantly be back next year as well as planning next years Moto GP european trip.
Done Lemans a few times and Assen a few too, cannot decide where to go next year.
I am thinking maybe Aragon via the 24hr ferry or perhaps Brno? Good roads there and back is needed
any advice welcome

I'm going to Aragon next month so will post a thread on my experience and route etc.

I went to Aragon last year, made a week of it and did a bit of Spain via Pico's while we were there. Was a fantastic trip but if you want some advice then book the same hotel the night before and after and avoid the temptation to ride to the track, see if you can collar some lads to share a taxi too and from the track on the day. We sat in scorching Spanish sun the entire day in our bike gear and nearly passed out from the heat. A pair of shorts and a T would have made so much difference, plus of course the ability to have a beer! That said, the locals in the villages come out afterwards for miles around to wave the bikes past, from 2 years old to 102! Awesome!
