Brembo Calipers

The Brembo M4 brake calipers are very good but you will see very little, if any, increase in braking performance compared to the OEM Brembo calipers. The only real benefit you would gain from fitting a set is that the brake pads for them are considerably cheaper. As already mentioned if you fit M4 calipers you will have to change the brake lines to fit them. If you want a set of calipers that will increase braking performance then buy a set of Brembo GP4-RX calipers. They are more expensive than the M4 calipers but they do bolt straight on as they are compatible with the OEM brake lines. The race brake pads for them are also much cheaper.

Wooow GP4RX are veeeeery expensive.

Searching photos, the M4 in my dealer have the holes in the same point than the golden original calipers and the GP4RX, different in the M50 and also different with the photo of the friend.

Brake Issues

I took the bike two months ago to change brake pads, changed brake pads and liquid and here the problem started. The bike is from November 2015, all original.

It sounds very much like you just need to completely flush the brake system with fresh fluid, clean the calipers, and check the pistons and seals making sure that they are free from debris. Once you have done that then bleed the brakes thoroughly. If that doesn?t resolve the issue then you will need to investigate further.

Brembo M4 Calipers
Require new brake lines.

Brembo M50 Calipers
Require new master cyclinder / brake lines.

Brembo GP4-RX Calipers
Compatiable with OEM brake lines.

U won?t need to change ur lines if ur bike 2015 , for some reason I thought it was older.
U really should try a rcs 19

Wooou, then do I need to change the lines if I am 2015 to mount the M4? Another fellow above said yes, go mess.

Jay, I?ve never heard of M4?s not needing replacement lines when fitted to RR?s which came with the Gold OEM Brembo?s.
Please can you clarify your position, as its contra to all others.

As far as I?m aware that is correct. If you have bought Brembo M4 calipers and a Brembo RCS 19 master cylinder then you have nothing to worry about as they are compatible. However you will still need to buy new brake lines.

The only other point to note when buying Brembo calipers is that you need to order the 100mm version to fit the S1000RR.

The Brembo M50 calipers are designed to work with a 17 RCS master cylinder. There are plenty of Brembo dealers across Europe who can easily source a set of M4 calipers.

Brake Lines

I can?t comment on which brake lines you need to buy. One of the reasons why I purchased my Brembo GP4-RX calipers was that they were compatible with both the OEM master cylinder and OEM brake lines.
