It all depends how June goes in my opinion...holiday resorts opening in July, airlines starting up again...i think there will be something to stay over at....well thats what I'm hoping for as its a fair trek to me.

But worth it for epic photo shoot of the largest UK gathering of BMW S1000RR ever....

Yep. It?s the same problem every year, wherever we meet doesn?t suit everyone. Last one was up in Scotland. I would have preferred North Yorkshire because its epic and the roads a quieter than derbyshire but its too far for those far south.

Re: 2020 Forum meet

I am game if I can make the date. I will travel up from Hertfordshire.

Re: 2020 Forum meet

So, is 26th July set then Soof? Just so that I can plan ahead and make sure I'm not anything else that day! :)

Re: 2020 Forum meet

If jase can do the 26th then that would work for everyone so, probably yes.

Re: 2020 Forum meet

Im supposed to be at work but will try and book the day off, I know the peak district from working all over the area, if your wanting roads and routes then let me know what kind of millage you are wanting to do in the day.

Re: 2020 Forum meet

I think being realistic we would all try and meet up somewhere around 11am with a view to riding somewhere at 12 (to give an hour window for anyone running late/lost etc). Maybe then arrive somewhere for some lunch at 1pm (so an hour riding). Maybe another hour 2.30-3.30pm to another spot, then anyone can get off or stay around.

As you will know, keeping a lot of bikes together in a convoy is very difficult, and slow going, so the 'riding' aspect will be kept to a minimum imo.

Also there will be plenty of traffic around.

I think we need to have a meeting point agreed, edkg could you suggest? Then plan from there.

How does that sound to everyone?

Re: 2020 Forum meet

Sounds great I?m happy to be tail end Charlie as I?m slow as fu** lol

Re: 2020 Forum meet

Sounds good. I cant go faster than 45 mph as my stabilisers start to smoke.

Re: 2020 Forum meet

Ok il look and plan some routes,

Does anyone want to go to Matlock Bath? will be busy and parking can be an issue but has lots of chip shops and lots of bikes?
Also famous cat and fiddle road is full of average speed cameras but is ok for a drink if the pub is open again, il check.

once i have some routes il post them up if anyone wants to change them then il adjust for timings.

Dave

Also the Greyhound at Cromford was very good when I was last there last year, prior to lockdown but hoping to open soon.

Following drink and waiting for anyone else to arrive,

Continue to T junction turn right B6012 this will lead through the grounds of Chatsworth house and photo opportunity if you want the house in the background
Continue on this road and then turn left at junction onto A6 towards Matlock, speed camera in built up area of Darley Dale- to roundabout at matlock, turn right to wards Matlock bath for lunch.

looking at times it will be around an hour to glossop, then around 60-90 mins to matlock bath, depending on pace and traffic.

Il look at a route for after lunch, it may be that some may want to do some of the morning roads again?

Re: 2020 Forum meet

It is expected that accommodation will be open again from 4th July so does that make this year?s forum meet more likely for anyone who hasn?t already said they are coming?
