Hi all,
not had my 2014 long but I've been offered a reasonably good deal at a dealership to swap to a 2015 RR Sport.

My current bike has the FGRT202 forks and Ohlins Shock, along with Ohlins damper and Leo vince Full system. The 2015 is stock.

The above mods are not include so I can recoup most of the money to change from the above.

I'm tempted by the DDC for the road along with the 2 way quickshifter etc.

Based on my bikes current spec does anyone think it is worth changing or am I just bored during winter looking at shiny things haha?

Thats a nice set up on the 2014. Is it going to be used on road or track?

Hi pof, thanks mate. Its will be used on both. Probably around 6-8 track days this year and the rest on the road.

Hi, I ran my '10 Bitubo fr and rear mainly on track last couple of years I had it. Bought the '15 with the ddc and was as good straight out the crate. Best part is not having to get the spanners out to change with the conditions lol

Cheers Bananaman. My concern at the moment is the money I have put into the 2014. Fingers crossed I should get most if not all of the cash back for the Ohlins etc but is the 2015 really going to be that much if at all better? Stock for stock I would say yes 100%.

I would say yes but you need to rag a demo to be sure. To me, the auto downshift is worth it's weight in gold but mainly on track, I believe the swing arm pivot angle is also different (better) according to the proper racers I know. Launch is crap unless you change clutch basket but guess you won't need that. It's all relative, what it can do to what you can do lol

I had a tricked up 2012 with all the toys which is a gen 2 same as yours. I had the new ZX10R early 2016 and an SP fireblade. Sold them all and bought a S1000R Sport and a new 2016 RR Sport with the forged wheels. Nothing ive had before compares to my RR Sport.

more power, better brakes, suspension, i think it turns quicker, auto blipper, change riding modes on the fly, find it more comfortable and it looks better in the flesh.

You can change modes on the fly with the old one.
The power is virtually the same, but the 15+ has better midrange.
Better brakes, not better than the HP4! Same Brembos as previous gens. I'd imagine any inferred improvement is again geo related.

like i said, more power, "easier" to change modes on the fly, better brakes than my 2012 RR (not an HP4). Once you ride them back to back then you will know, otherwise they would be racing 2014 at last years TT and not the 2015/16 bike.

Let's not mention the 2015 TT when Dunlop won on the 2014 bike after switching back from the new one. :)

Hi Mike, I am also considering an upgrade later this year, if you do not mind me asking what did they (BMW) offer you for your bike and how many miles does it have? Interested because mine is a 2012 (Gen 2) with just over 5K. Apart from a tail tidy and tracker device (which can be removed) it is 100% stock.

Thanks :)

You can find all the gory details here:

The dealer has offered me 9700 for my 14 with 5600 on the clock and FDSH. From looking on here for what people have offered I feel it is on the slightly low side of fair. The dealer with the non performance pack bike has offered me 10K for my 14 and it is a cheaper bike so around 800 less to change. The latter is not really an option now without the extras but still not 100% on the deal. Don't want to miss my Ohlins lol.

Aha thank you Sir :)
So given my bike is 2 years older than yours with the same miles I wonder how that will effect it's trade in value
