BMW raised the rear ride height from the 23 model. It's nothing new, I did the same on my new GSXR1000 nearly 20 years ago, and dropped the yokes 10mm too. Bikes like the R1 and RSV4 and now the BMW are all pretty high. Which is fine if your 5.10 plus, but I think I'm shrinking a bit as I get older. Anyway on my new 24 RR I'm thinking about shortening the rear ride height adjuster to the same length as my old 22 RR, and dropping the yokes 10mm, incidentally my Gen 2 came with 10mm of the forks above the yokes. Has anyone tried similar?

A seat upholsterer shaved an inch off the foam, so it's probably the same a lower seat now.

Pauly, someone else on here might come along after me, but I remember reading on here how changing the height of the forks in the yolks might seriously challenge the chassis dynamics of the bike and thus seriously change the handling characteristics. My suggestion would be to measure and record everything on paper before you make any adjustments or changes so that if changes happen to upset the handling characteristics for you and 'bugger it all up' then you can easily put it back to what it was before. Good luck, let us know how you get on so that anyone else who is 'inside leg measurement challenged' might benefit from your endeavours.

Are you referring to those yank linkage kits that drop the bike an inch or more?
