Tried them Saturday but no answer, probably at Oulton with Rob Mcnealy in stock1000

Could be a group buy coming on :wink-new:
Group buy sounds like a plan! I've emailed so we'll see what they come back with. I'll let Bananaman negotiate the group discount!

Excellent speedy answer from HM.
If you want it to actually work you'll need to change quite a bit:
Brembo 13mm thumb brake ?1195+vat
Brembo clamp kit ?76.50+vat
Rear abs line ?52.5 +va
3-4 hours labour at ?55/hr
= approx ?1800.
Too salty for me!

Labour I can understand, the m/c is a pisstake.... You can get pr front calipers for that ?

Brembo

If they are quoting for the Brembo Billet Rear Thumb Brake / Master Cylinder then that price doesn't surprise me.

Why is the cost so high?

4 hours of labor is a push.

As I understand it, they've tried various options to support a racer who wanted a thumb brake, but the only workable solution means using the sillycost M/c. Presumably, they don't make many so the costs rise very quickly...
Also, it was pointed out that there is a question mark over the legality of running one on the road. Good point, but no idea about that. Contact HM for details! I'll be using them where possible for servicing and wear n tear items where possible once the warranty runs out.

This way the footbrake and thumb brake are one, however many do not realise that the rr uses intelli braking in that pulling the front lever gives 80% front brake and 20%rear. Do u want 20% feel coming through that thumb brake ? If u used one before then no u don?t .
Test A) ride up the road and use just ur footbrake , u will feel it bite straight after applying pressure. Now go up road and pull front brake then go to press foot brake. U will find the lever has moved a little and this because pressure is already being applied to the rear brake via front lever

Great post Jay, very detailed indeed ;)

Re the possible ABS issue described above, would this be negated if either the bike is in Slick mode or that the ABS is in ?Slick? within the User Mode?
I believe that the ABS is disabled completely at the rear when in Slick.

Cheers,

Oli
