Hi,

A bit of a silly question but moving the shift rod with gear assist pro makes me nervous so i thought i'd ask! I gave the chain a good clean and lube the other day but wanted to get the sprocket cover off to clean the crud off however the shift rod is directly in front of the cover. Do I have to remove the shift rod to get to the front sprocket off if so whats the best way to do this without breaking anything?

Warren.

You can remove the plastic sprocket cover without removing the Shift Assist module. That said it is much easier to just unplug the quickshifter, loosen the bolt on the gear selector shaft spline and then pull it off and simply rotate it out of the way. Just make sure that you remount it in the same position when you put it back on.
