Does anyone know the easiest way make meaningful adjustments to the suspension? I've sort of done ride height and tweaked front and rear settings (electronically) to be honest, it's finger in the wind to an extent! šŸ˜¬

Easiest is book an appointment with MCT or another suspension specialist.

Preload, fork height in the triple clamps, rear ride height and preload are about all you can play with other than the DDC settings.

What weight are you? Kitted or un-kitted. The stock Gen3 suspension is geared towards the 90-95kg rider.
I'm 85kgs and have had the front fork springs swapped out for 10Nm units lowering the Nm over the stock setup 10.5-10.75Nm.
This allows the forks to work more in the middle of the stroke, which will turn better.

Raising the forks up the triple clamps will reduce the wheel base and therefore rake and trail - bike should turn faster...but at what cost...
I think the Gen3 still has an eccentric rear shock mount which can be flipped to raise the rear (which has the same affect as lowering the front).
But neither of these are widely done. I'm talking in theory as I've not done it.

Seriously, how do you know so much? It seems to me that most of the people using this forum really do know what they're talking about. I find the rear quite hard. I've actually backed it off slightly (I'm around 85/86kg kitted) and decreased compression and rebound. I've stiffened the front two/three clicks. I think I'm comfortable with the front, I don't think I'm as happy with the rear?

LOL - I'm not that clever. I've just tried to pay attention to the other bright/experienced people on here.

FWIW on the road in sport mode I'm -2 Front and -1 rear. MCT didn't replace my rear spring he felt it was right for my weight (which appears to be yours). In USER mode, on track the DDC is in RACE with the front +1 and rear 0.
 
Thanks, that doesn't seem too far away.
I've been riding bikes for 40 years, I can trufully say that I've ridden this bike faster and harder than any other. And the he best thing is, it's easy to go fast on it. In fact the last time I rode it, I realised I can go even faster.

Hi Ian, have you popped a tie wrap around one of the front fork stanchions to see how much compression you are getting? If it's feeling hard then go towards negative values, -7 being the max soft option. on road you'll probably find something around -2 or -3 on the front and near 0 on the back does the trick.
 
Where about are you located as someone on here will be able to recommend a suspension specialist near you. You could arrange a walk in service where they will set the sag and preload front and rear for your weight. Once thats been done correctly you can they play with the DDC settings. Ive just used Mark Hammond Racing in Chippenham. Best ?40 mod I've done on the bike.
 
Hi thanks for your reply. I think I'm comfortable with the front, it's the rear I'm not 100% on? Having said that, it seems to be pretty good at speed, which is probably best?

Weardale racing or KRG motorcycles if in Co. Durham. Never used either but will be visiting one or the other soon as I'm not happy with my suspension set up either. Both come highly regarded on the North East Bikers group on Facebook if you're a member? KRG is a forum vendor on here too so there may be a deal available?

I have the non ddc gen2 bike and basically I messed around with everything including the fork height and hate the way it feels now. It's too hard at times and pretty hard to turn at times, to be fair it was like this before I played around and I seem to have made no difference whatsoever. I did this before a trip to Italy the other week knowing I'd find out if I liked it or not and also with the knowledge that the aforementioned experts will be able to sort it for me when I get the chance
 
Hi, it seems with these things there's no in-between? It either works or it doesn't. I'm not sure I understand it (well I don't) I must have been lucky. I'm in C-L-S (BTW)

To be honest qhen i first got mine it wasnt too bad but thought it could be better. Then i became a youtube expert on suspension adjustments and have made several attempts to see how bad i can get it! Answer is im pretty good at adjusting badly. Ive never tried the ddc but most likely will upgrade to the newer bike in the future. Seems lile theres less to mess up badly with that. Im from Trimdon, I'll bet you have to google it!

Strangely enough I travelled through Trimdon every day for just over a year. I lived in Spennymoor for a year, and Trimdon was on my route to work! Nice village, nice church and two pubs! Apparently a good curry house quite close too?
