The R1 has its ass kicked around Mallory by Michael Rutter in Performance Bikes Magazine. In fact the 2015 s1000rr is the fastest production bike around Mallory ever tested, all be it on the cast wheels. I'll take that thank you.

Yep - I read that. Quote "its perfect everywhere - blar blar blar - it will take something very special to beat it". And I agree - every time I go out on mine I don't want to go home! I can see this is going to be a very expensive summer in fuel and tyres.

I keep reading the bloody article. It's 5 secs.....yes 5 secs faster around Mallory than an 2014 GSXR1000 with Rutter on both ffs. I'm going to forgive the rattles from now on lol.

Oooh, must get my hands on PB tomorrow, that should shut everyone up who's been banging on about MCN laptimes! Without spoiling my read do I take it the Beemer did rather well overall on the test or was it Mallory Park times only?

R1 Ducati and BM ridden by Rutter around Mallory mate. I'm going to read how it compares on the road by Rutter later. Fastest production bike ever around Mallory ffs. Going to put a bit of polish on the BM tomorrow and puff my chest as it were.

I wish there was a 'Like' button for this  I Can't understand where all the negative comments are coming from for our 2015 bike!??? I absolutely love everything about it! Not even my Mrs can make me smile as much as every time i get off the bike! Beautiful machine that i wouldn't change for the world. I will be purchasing PB magazine tomorrow and giving the bike a clean with a grin on my face

I'm with you on that, riding my '15RR is like being on a guided missile on the one hand, the DDC, gearbox, speed of direction change and sheer power allowing me to blast down B roads with the kind of invincible feeling I last felt when I owned a Mitsubishi Evo 8, yet on the M/way, in traffic and two up the same bike morphs into something that is easy to manage, comfortable and safe. Cant wait to get out on it again!

Look at the speed the white lines are passing, look at the speed he passes other cars, also the speed other bikes pass him when he is doing @170mph, not believing it's true speed for a minute.

I also had a tweet from Jeremy McWilliams saying he had just tested the latest superbikes back to back, 11 of them in 1 day on track. He said it was incredible - all bikes were within a second of each other.

Wanted to show how fast the BM past the R1. I know what your saying about the speed but do the revs not match the speed, we all ready know the r1 is slower up to top speed than the rest as has been put in other posts.

I agree with Davy. There was a very similar vid a year or so ago. It's in the U.S. I believe so approach speed on cars would be around 110+ which isn't how the vid plays. Maybe it's kph, not mph, lol.

I like it when they test these bikes with a pucker racer like Jezer. MCN were 3 secs faster on the R1 than the beemer (Get real MCN). Bloody editors thinking they are racers.

Looks like true speed to me, it's a wide-angle cam. Always surprises me how video looks so slow on my headcam, when in the real world I'm flying up worryingly quickly behind cars.

Although in those conditions I can't see it says anything about the relative performance of the bikes, merely how brave/stupid the riders are.

Makes me shiver, once upon a time I did things like that, now I'm just glad other people do it so I don't have to!

R1 sounds fantastic though.
