Because I'm a tart I want my clipons to match the black anodised triple clamps I have. I took off the standard ones and took them to an anodising specialist who said because they are cast that I would not get a good finish.

Does anybody know which clip ons will fit a bike with standard bodywork comfortably? I have just tried some harris ones but they are too far forward and to stop the brake lever interfering with the fairing I would need to have them pulled right in and the brake lever angled too far down.

Renthal now do them to suit with the bars attached at the side of the clamp instead of from the front.

I wouldnt trust those Renthals. Bar is held in by a small grub screw and they have some movement in the joint.

Doesn't sound too convincing, i have emailed renthal and i'm waiting for a response but not sure i like the sound of loose clips ons. the TRW ones look similar in dimension and bar positioning but a bit more sturdy.

Not seen them in the flesh so thanks for the warning Godzilla, would properly spoil your day if a tube came loose!

No worries. I was just about to pull the plug on the Renthal Gen 2 until I saw them on a bike on a shop. Really put me off. Now on the look for something else.

I started doing one of them, the trouble is the shape and the detailing once you get going, someone can prove me wrong but to me it seemed that i still wasn't going to get a good finished, if i cant find any i'll get a second hand one off fleabay to replace the polished one.
