You would think they'd be a bit more clued up on the subject. The service manager can update it for me but the problem is who's paying for it. Bike was ordered 6 weeks ago and delivered 4 weeks ago with no abs pro,although others on here that bought at same time have it.

Yes bud, sometimes it is difficult getting the correct info from BMW UK or some dealers. It is a lot of money to have it retrofitted which nearly put me off but I intend to keep the bike for a while. I hope the dealer pays for yours and it doesn't sour you experience of the RR.

The bike is awesome and the standard abs and brakes are so much better than the Honda abs I had on the blade. Just be nice to have the abs pro for those 'holy ****' moments. As tesco says,every little helps lol

Dealer got back to me today after they'd spoken to BMW UK and they are now in a position to install ABS Pro free of charge to my 16 plate:victorious:

Thats great news, sorry you had to chase them but great end result. Will that be with the dynamic braking as well?

Ross - Could you give the rest of us '16 plate owners all the details (which dealer, what BMW UK said, anything else useful), I for one want to push my dealer for this to!

Looking at this thread it is clear that some 16 plate bikes have ABS Pro as standard,the ones that were manufactured most recently. As my bike and others were built earlier in the year it is not included. I politely put it to my dealer that as I had ordered a new 16 plate then it should have ABS Pro too. The bike is booked in next Tuesday and I'll try and find out what the communication from BMW UK was.
Hopefully includes the dynamic braking as the service manager said its all one update.

Good result, nice one. Will you be giving us a demo?!

I think I'll leave the demos to the experts lol. There's prob a YouTube clip already. Good to have tho in an emergency.

I need to check if this is on my 2016 bike but I think I checked after buying and was under the impression it was coming later. I did have a pretty hairy moment on a 150mph sweeper at Spa last month where the front went and I felt it pulse about three times as it slid and came back into grip again. It took me a couple of days mulling over what had happened before I realised it was the electronics. I've experienced the front screaming but I've never gone to the point of actually losing it and getting it back again like that, especially as such a high speed. There's a fair chance the bike would be smashed to bits if I had crashed going at that speed.

If your bike is fitted with ABS-Pro it'll say so on the dash when you turn the ignition on, you can't miss it.

Hi guys - sorry if this info annoys anyone - reading the thread I can completely understand all the views.

I have new bike on order from Allan Jefferies (thanks again Soof) and called up the sales manager Simon to get the correct info on this subject - luckily for me its all included on my bike but essentially the ABS Pro Kit is;

a) Cornering ABS which basically means if you lock the wheel mid corner, it should hold the line.
b) Dynamic Brake Light is where if indeed you do lock the brakes, it flashes the rear brake to alert people behind you!

Quite amazing tech really. Anyway I hope this clears everything up for anyone questioning.

In at John Clark Dundee yesterday and had ABS pro package installed on my 2016 at no cost to myself. Am still none the wiser as to exactly what BMWs view on the matter is,but as I was told that it was processed as a warranty issue then I would assume that anyone else who has purchased a 16 plate,and not had ABS pro installed,would get treated the same if their dealer raised it in the same manner.

I'm sure it was on this thread but I can't find it. My mate has a July 15 s1000rr and I'm not sure if it has the IMU or if it would need that installed as well as the software upgrade?
