Didn't DoubleR get a bike which was already ordered? If so then it was probably destined to be a Demonstrator. Thus I would *guess* that they had the ability to spec the ABS Pro for demonstration purposes where normal orders do not.

Just a thought.

Aye, that is right - my bike was already on its way to the dealer group and I nicked it. However, all the VINs I've looked at which have been recent builds seem to have ABS-Pro (in isolation, not with the dynamic brake light) as listed options on the build sheet. It does appear that it's become a standard part of the build on the RR Sport.

You might be right though, Alex.

Spent a bit of time with my dealer on this earlier. Looks like abs pro is standard with the riding pro package for '16 onwards bikes. They weren't aware of this change, and I'm waiting for the sales manager to discuss further next week and confirm the exact details.

I don't have a 3rd gen bike presently, I'm more interested for the benefit of you early adopters.

I would not be terribly pleased if I had a 3rd gen bike with the full spec and having to pay extra for the upgrade based on what seems to be the case now but it all needs validating first.

Do the '16 bikes with abs pro say it in the display when they are turned on?

Mine says it came of the production line Jan 16th 2016. It does not have abs pro.

It will have been phased in at a particular VIN number. Doesn't really matter, the point is it's now bundled and those that paid for essentially the same bike/package have been short changed. I feel this specific scenario should be a free upgrade. MY16 + riding pro package = ABS Pro included or FoC update.

Exactly my sentiment too.

It doesn't help that the dealers seem largely clueless. Sitting with a sales guy today I had to explain that abs pro is not race abs, or riding modes pro. He didn't have any idea how to look up vin build details with his plethora of online dealership tools, (even though we seem to be able to do it). As a final option I suggested we go and turn the keys on their brand new demonstrator bike to see if it displayed (hence my question) but it didn't, so it must not have the riding pro package (I didn't hang around to find out, I'd probably still be there), but he was adamant it did have abs pro because it said ABS above the lean angle readings on the display when it started up. This guy has been at the dealership as long as I can remember, several years, nice chap, but they seem clueless, uneducated by management and BMW.

The demo '16 bike I still have (and may have for a long time to come) doesn't have abs pro, it doesn't have the riding modes pro package (I presume you don't need the slick plug in to see user mode do you?)

Yeah you need to have the slick plug in to see 'user' and 'slick' mode.

So the demo bike has the riding modes pro package after all but no abs pro.

I can also confirm the GSA Enduro Pro plug also fits as the slick plug on the s1000rr. :)

How did you find that out?
As above using the VIN #
I have every option available at the time apart fron the wheels. But I was never told I would get Abs pro.
Wish I did though, can't help feel a little short changed! I'll ask my dealer see what they say, but I'm sure it's going to cost ????!

On Tuesday, subject to the weather, I will be having the ABS Pro installed on my 2015. As other posters have said and according to the manual/info sheet it only works in rain, sport and race mode, not user or slick. It will be the techs first install at the dealership.

The dealer hasn't been able to confirm if the dynamic braking lights software may be installed as well?

Was it ever confirmed abs pro comes as standard on new 16 s1000rr? Just went to check mine. and I have it on mine

Fingers crossed I have it on mine then, will check when I get up later. What's the Dynamic braking light software?

Just checked mine and no abs pro. According to the VIN check the bike was manufactured back in February. If it is the case that new bikes are coming with abs pro think I'll be having words with the dealer.
