Re: Winter Workshop

That Talon sprocket is almost too pretty to fit...SKF bearing and Showe seal fitted, new Cush rubbers.. the old ones were hard as hell compared to new..

Re: Winter Workshop

HP4 4 wheel cush drives are simple rings Rob... those ones for my ZX10 are pattern but they look and feel as they should...

Re: Winter Workshop

Advantage of the HP4 - cheaper spares! Amazing what they can charge for bits of rubber!

Seen people do Cush drive repairs using bits of bicycle tyres to pack the rubbers, but not something I?d chance with close to 200bhp at the rear wheel ????

Re: Winter Workshop

Totally, the carrier is a really snug fit on this ZX.. my mate thought I was havering when I told him the bike had 5 wheel bearings..I could see the gears grinding in his mincemeat head..then the fingers came out..2,3,4 .... shut up he said, HOW'S IT GOT 5 ... lol

Re: Winter Workshop

Ground to a halt at present.. waiting on the following.

Rear rim being dipped, stripped and recoated ETA Wednesday.
Set of Michelin Power 5s ETA Wednesday
Set of pegs from Italy ? ETA anyones guess
Carbon Hugger from Powerbronze ETA Monday
Probolt sprocket nuts ETA Tuesday

Couple of other non essentials enroute

Re: Winter Workshop

Keep up the great work Stuart!

Re: Winter Workshop

Gaping hole in my pocket this thing... whipped off rear caliper earlier.. pretty minging...decided to overhaul it...Never normally skimp but as it's the rear and speaking to others the stuff Wemoto sells appears decent and very well priced compared to OE... so ordered seals, gaiters, washers and retaining pins... anyone on here used ? they've superb stock for all makes/models ...their microfiche style diagrams are excellent...

Re: Winter Workshop

I had a look at their website when I did the M4s. I've bought stuff from them before and they were good.

Re: Winter Workshop

Keep them coming Stuart.... I swear u have done a bank over! Lol

Re: Winter Workshop

Tonights project..

Rebuilt rear caliper....service kit arrived today from Wemoto (rapid delivery and the kit brilliant vfm). .14 quid for both seals, 2 crush washers, 2 gaiters, nipple and cover, retaining pin, R clip and sachet of rubber grease...will definitely use them again. Paint on caliper isn't braw but the business ends are all perfect. Set of Double H pads from EBC

That DID chain tool is excellent, easy to use and robust... used spare wheel to help put things together, the body shop should have the other one finished tomorrow... Mic'd the link against factory settings..spot on..

Re: Winter Workshop

Front sprocket torqued..125 nm same as thouRR... fitted Carbon Hugger, bracket supplied wasn't even a close fit, had to modify it and the angles so it fitted snugly... Huggers very well made, typical Powerbronze but they must have let Stevie Wonder loose on the bracket..
