Just curious, can you use Pirelli/Metzeler type wet tyres on the road? Say for winter? Does that make any sense? Do they fall apart too fast to be worthwhile?

My OEM wheels will become spares soon. So I was going to fit them with the above for track usage when the current Conti Sports are done. But I was wondering if they are to be used on road too.

That would make sense...as otherwise I'd expect more to use them. Can't see the words on the website to confirm that categorically.

Wet Tyres

Wet tyres (Metzeler Racetec Rain etc) are designated NHS (Not for Highway Service) competition tyres for track/race use only and are not road legal. If using them on track they are really only to be used in full wet conditions as they do not last long at all particularly when the circuit is drying out or just damp.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll stick to good touring/wet tyres on the spares.
