Seriously why did BMW engineers put a hole in the hugger? It must have a purpose?.

Any thoughts ?
 
It's done on the ABS models for clearance when the rear suspension is at full compression.
 
nah i don't think so , i was gonna buy one with no hole.
having said that i am running a bitubo rear shock with a 105 spring and its genuinely hard as fuck IMHO , so who knows. Shell hairpin is a unique bend though and the bike is put under a lot of pressure
 
Take the hugger off, offer it up to the ABS/Battery box, there is no way it will go through that hole in the hugger.
