Most of time even genuine fail. All depends on crash

Yea, I agree with BBB about the type of crash, It all depends, if its a low side scraper then pretty much any decent protection should help, if you flip it your in the laps of the gods.

The R and G bung on my ZX took the full weight of the bike when my neighbours old man upended it, but so would "anymake" have..

Kinda hoping I never use them.

I had a genuine GB cover there. Bike low sided and slid on tarmac. End result GB cover got destroyed and I ended up with oil leak thru timing cover.

Yea, exactly the point in question, all that mass on a small area, any protection will wear through.
