What hapenned to the underseat luggage straps?

Took delivery of my 2017 having traded in my 2012. When I tried to attached my Kriega luggage I noticed that two of the luggage loops are missing? my previous bike had 4 loops but now there's only two?

Has anyone else noticed this?

I asked the dealer about buying the two missing one's but they are not available. Why have they removed them?

Looks like its been modified by someone in the Accountancy Dept. of BMW rather than any practical reason.

Unless someone has the lowdown?

Must have saved them at least ?2.50 on a ?17k bike. All that ECU programming to control the suspension is clearly expensive

TBH I wouldn't mind if I could order the loops and fit myself, but to just do away with them makes no sense, especially when the saddle can still accommodate them.

I guess you could always put some nylon chord through the hole and have the functionality back.
