Well guys after weeks of trying to get cheap insurance and find the right bike I'm giving up , Not willing to pay ?1300 insurance so my question is

What else would you have ,

Does anyone have any experience with the naked bikes like the HUSQVARNA NUDA or the Superduke 301

I can get either of them cheap on insurance , Don't ask how but they are coming in at ?450 full comp

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling to get an acceptable quote, hopefully in the not too distant future things will improve.

Generally with insurance I've found 600 ish class sportbikes to be roughly half of 1000 quotes, and for naked bikes to be roughly half of an equivalent sportbike.
You'll definitely find some substantially cheaper quotes on bikes that aren't in the "supersports" category.

Unfortunately I can't comment on either of the bikes you mention as I have no experience with with, other then to say that Royal Jordanian (on YouTube) loves his Nuda, and I have owned several KTMs in the past and had a great ownership experience from Jim Aim Motorycles

Also, for what it's worth, if I didn't have my SThou and I was looking to buy a bike today, I'd be going straight to Triumph to test ride the new Street Triple 765 (Triumphs middleweight triples are sweet!).

What about an older litre bike like a GSXRthou or maybe an MT10 or dare I say it an adventure bike like a KTM 1290SA - brilliant fun?

MT10's are reasonable in terms of insurance. I seriously considered one before I got my BMW.

Would you consider an S1000R? I certainly would (and the XR). Assuming the insurance is acceptable of course. More useable 'real world' performance .. although I guess that depends on which planet you live :)

+1 on the XR, I test rode one last year and thought it was great!
Insurance wise it was roughly half what I am paying for my RR

If insurance is a key issue try for quotes on KTM's 1290 SuperDuke

My friend has two fault accidents in 2 years (saying goodbye to both a Triumph Street Triple & Ducati Hypermotard).
Aged 25- insurance for a 2016 brand new KTM 1290 superudke was ?400 / year fully comp.

Seems some KTM's are low insurance such as my brother in laws work colleague post his R6 being nicked - could only find reasonable insurance for KTM's!

Ziggy the s1k isn't cheap for insurance as all iterations have 193hp + which is more then the latest Fireblade editions
Trust me, it'll be a regret if you miss out. I made a big sacrifice at 24 jumping from ?800 675 Daytonas to the s1k. Seemed the price was the issue for me (theft risk I believe is a high contender)

To get cheap insurance and loads of fun I would go for
Yamaha MT07 and MT09 (I would buy either).
Triumph Street Triple 675R 13 plate on.
Honda CBR600RR 07 on.

You are getting lots of opinions... so I'll add another. If its sportsbikes you are after they are a bit old school now but my last GSXR 750 L1 (they are still the same now right up to current model bar paintwork) was seriously rapid. In fact, on the road would give a lot of litre bikes a run for their money if you keep it spinning and is very "flickable". The insurance on mine was ridiculously low, about a quarter of my S1K. There are no toys at all, but there is something about wringing the neck of a slightly smaller bike that is proper fun!

+1 on the GSXR-750 ....did 40k miles on my K9 and loved every minute! :)

Yeah I had a k8 750 for 7 years and racked up 78000 kilometres and it was great, very reliable and would keep up with anything on the road
