The first of a few 2017 deliveries, riding kit courtesy of Dainese and MCA Leicester. Suit, gloves, boots, back & chest protection. Fits a little tighter than when I was measured up in Nov :fat:
No D-Air suit yet but hopefully get one sorted in the next month or 2.

New Capit warmers, looking forward to seeing whether they really are that much better than the competition.

Can't beat a delivery of Dainese kit. Just had a full new set myself. What did you go for?

Laguna Seca D1 Vented Suit
Axial Pro In Boots
Full Metal Gloves

Should also be getting a d-air suit in the near future. The gloves are a bit of a stop gap, due to a hand injury normal gloves don't fit my right hand properly so I'm going to have to get made to measure Held Titan Evo. The manufacture/delivery time is 6-8 wks and I needed some gloves for Cartagena in early March.

Coming from years of Alpinestars & Furygan kit so looking forward to seeing how the Dainese compares. Initial impressions are good, build quality is excellent. And.....nobody else could match their race discount scheme this year. :highly_amused:

Great choice. I got the Laguna Seca Vented suit. Axial Pro In boots and the Race pro in gloves. Also got a D Core Dry one piece under suit. Quality is awesome.

Similar to you I have had alpinestars before now but I have to say the Dainese stuff is far superior.

I tried the inner gloves, felt really comfy and I initially ordered a pair of each to see how I got on with them but I prefer a lot of armour for my hands & wrists so stuck with the outers.

I crashed in Alpinestars GP Pro gloves and almost lost my thumb, they just fell to bits! Got my arm & hand jammed under the bike and in the front wheel so not sure if different gloves would have helped much but don't think I'd be able to trust GP Pros again. Shame as I've still got my spare pair sat in the garage.

The Full Metals feel much more comfortable even though they're thicker and the armour is more substantial.

I went for the Manis back and L2 chest protector too. Pretty uncomfortable compared to my Forcefield stuff but I'm hoping it'll bed in a bit, feels much better sat on the bike than off it. I've packed both Forcefield and Dainese stuff to see which feels best on track.

Will never go wrong with the Capit, outstanding kit.
And fully repairable which swung it for me. And 3 year warranty not just 1

Pof,
Mate, without sounding insulting, they are disgusting and completely unacceptable.
These are the link for reducing 190 bhp to 0 as quick as possible.
People spend so much time and money on bling and looking good, yet don't give any time to the most important parts.
They need serious attention, and not just a squirt of brake cleaner token effort.

My brake cleaner arrived so took the calipers off for a good clean. Last time out the were binding badly and the discs were proper cooking. On inspection the salt road crude had the pistons sticking so the pads cane out and pushed pistons as far out as i dare. All cleaned up well and all pistons moving nicely. No need for new seals or pistons which was a result

They did look bad paul but once the salt crystals were washed off and pads removed so i could get to the pistons then things could get cleaned properly. Like i said these calipers were taken off in may and the bike was in for a service with bmw recently (before salty roads mind). I would recommend anyone commuting during the winter to check more than once every 2 mnths.
The pistons were perfect after they were cleaned with no pitting or scaring and the pads , pins and back plates are cleaned and re installed. Discs were checked and oil is 3 mnths old. What else would you reccommend paul?

Well, I would advise to use the standard pads, they are bullet proof, used a set almost to the metal the other week, and only got lever movement towards the end. Although expensive, last 3 x longer than other brands tried so far. But they are a dirty pad.
The pads are so easy to get out, simply pull the calipers (13mm) and with a cheap firmest tooth brush remove all dust do it before washing the bike as part of the routine. It's really simple to do. It's not the surface stuff that's the problem, but the effect on the pistons, dust and oil seals.
If they are really poorly, push the pistons out evenly and remove the calipers put them in the washing up bowl with warm soapy water.
I used to put mine in the dish washer without liquid. I used to get told off a lot from the wife

The brembo pads lasted about 9k miles (road). Ive got 5k out of these so far with plenty of life left in them. On my track bike the pads , mc,lines etc are ramped up for the abuse they take. These pads i have found are great for the road.like i say ive had the pads out a number of times since ive had the bike 18 mnths and love how easy it is to do it compared to the r1s. Like you ive spent many a night with pistons in the wives washing up bowl 😂😂. Those calioers in the pic were put up to show people if you get caught in the winter on wet salty roads NOT to put the bike away without getting the salt off. Last year (1st winter with the s1kr) i made the same mistsake and went off to antigua . Whilst i was sunning myself for a week the salt pretty much killed the oem chain and any bolt head under 2ft of the ground. Should have learnt my lesson 😂😂😁

Agreed mate they were. Think im just gonna stick to the car once the salt goes down. Worst thing was i took them apart and back together again outside (no garage) and it started snowing. Then add brake cleaner into the mix and my hands were blocks of ice

I recommend the anti salt strategy. I have had problems with 2 BMW bikes due to the winter salt on the roads so keep my HP4 well away from the stuff. Even the supposedly bullet proof GS Adventure is showing rust and corrosion having been used in winter (never below 6) for a second season. I gave the front calipers and pads a deep clean after seeing the state of yours. Made a big difference to feel and performance. I also found another 2mm of wear marks after cleaning up the pads, there was so much crap on them that the marks were filled in, saved me fitting new ones (?120) prematurely. Cheers :).

Proper **** stuff that salt mate. I thought i would have to spend more time on my track bike due to higher speeds and more stresses put on the bike but im coming to the conclusion that road conditions have far bigger consquences on our bikes than track conditions

On the track/race bikes a dry tooth brush will take the thick of it off nicely. I have an adult one and a small kids one too to get into the nooks and crannies.
