Ok so I have a front valve stem leak at the base.leaking fairly quick as I found out today on a ride where I made it approx a mile from home then realised either I'm still hung over, even though ive only drunk 4 pints 12hrs ago,or my steering damper seized . Or **** best limp it home home which was quite weird as I can hear air leaking from the valve.****** valve it is then.question is my rear tyre is pretty much cooked at the moment I'm running on dunlop sportsmarts witch are good but take a bit of warming up.so do I pay the money to get valve renewed.cant do this my self unless I buy the axel removal tool, paddock stands and stuff or do I limp it to my local tyre fitter and go for a new set of pirelli tyres.what would you do ? Which tyres seeing as my Dunlop rear is pretty much worn?

Where is it leaking from, its really easy to take the internal metal bit of the valve out and replace that and blow the tyre up again.

If its leaking between the wheel metal and the valve rubber I think you will have to take the tyre off and replace the complete valve. It its the actual 'valve' bit inside the rubber thats leaking that can be replaced with the tyre in place.
