Well I have just brought a seat cowl for the 2012 s100rr
might as well just pulled my pants down
Personally the fit is not that good also the lock seems cheap and nasty
any one else fitted one and happy with it all for the grand price of £206.60 that's with 10%
discount ouch

cheers

Ouch indeed. - sounds like a load of dough for a piece of shit - is that an OEM BMW part?

This has been mentioned before, people saying they didn't like the fit, saying it had big gap,I found mine to be perfect, you get a small gap,but you need the gap, otherwise it will rub all your paint off. I love it,but mine is for sale and I've got HP carbon seat cowl now :)

yeah you need to fit both washers to the bracket, ones between bracket and seat cowl and ones between nut and bracket otherwise it will rub all the paint off as said.

Also a mate of mine has had his fireblade seat cowl and section replaced,it had taken all the paint off! Honda told him they have had a few bikes back because this has happend. 2011 btw. So if it's touching the seat section it's on wrong.

Soon as I get five will post a pic I can understand a small
gap to stop rubbing it fits perfect at the back just the front and
both front sides seem to be a fair amount of gap

As been mentioned on here before, I fitted the offical BMW seat cowl on my 2011 model. Large gap also - was a definite dissapointment. Understand that there has to be a small gap, but the large one here is ridiculous. Disgusted with it TBH. The thread with my pics is on here somewhere, im just too lazy to find it :D

cheers Russ! I do try lol only need one more part now! Going for the nose section next ;,)

I bought a German carbon one in the end. You lose the lock and it bolts in place through the seat fairing mounts. It has a very slight over lap one side at the seat end but appears to fit much better than the pictures of the oem ones on this thread. The best bit is it was only £140 delivered from Germany.

well if mine was any closer it would be touching the paint? It's only a matter of a few mm,and I'm very happy with mine. If yours is closer than mine in the pics, you won't have much paint left under you cowl. Like I said before my mates blade was up against his paint and rubbed it all off! But he was lucky and got new tail section and cowl under warranty. But they even said a few have come back because the cowl was too close.

Don't forget when you need access you lift the rear up because it's on a hinge so the front will need a gap.
