Mine was built on March 7th... I didn't know they work on saturdays too. Now just waiting for the shipment and hoping they will not close the borders for cargo...

Hi hertstif , the ?500 the money from BMW for the delay ? Thought l could only get spares from the bmw dealership with that money?

its a credit note for ?500. You can spend it on anything at the dealer, including servicing.

Nah, it's actually a special offer at a particular dealer. So it's the dealer, not BMW doing it. But you'd have to order and take delivery of a new bike before 31st March, so not much chance of that with the current situation. I just squeaked in.

The ?500 I think you're talking about is for people who had to wait ages for their bikes after ordering. I've had to wait 6 days, which feels like ages tbh!

Makes sense, yes I was meaning the latter.

cheers andyf I need better glasses cos I missed that bit, when I went out for a ride on mon, a front tyre warning symbol came on after a couple of miles on which I switched off,but then a red triangle symbol came, stopped checked front wheel tyre pressure 22psi, checked for any sign of something in the tyre, nothing, pump up tyre to 2.5 two days later it lost .5 the bike had only done 8miles and 6 of them the dealer did,ive heard that the carbon wheels can leak around the valve

Well the day finally arrived, ive only ever ridden a 675 and been riding for 5 and a half years. My bottle was slightly gone but my god this bike is out of this world. Everything about it, well i do have a gripe that the rear brake pedal is slightly low, is brilliant. The power, the handling, simply everything. I ve only done about 70 miles on it but I'm back out on it tomorrow and then again with a few of the lads on Sunday.

So far though for my first ever BIG bike, i'm simply over the moon

Sat here getting a little tad jealous.....with all thats shutting down I'm gonna call my dealer tomorrow and maybe bring collection forward.....

That might be a good idea mate, because if shops close later on then your bike may not be able to be released by them until all this crap is over.

I came from a 675r to my gen 4 m pack and like you... Love everything about her! Handles like the nimbleness of the Daytona, but the pick up, even with only 7k to 9k to play around with is sublime! I have done 90 miles now and can't wait to get a few more on this weekend.

Defo handles just like the daytona, its so nimble for a big bike. As you say even with the low rpm to play with it feels brilliant, ive a feeling over 9k its really going to wake up and scare the living hell out of me haha

Yep, I remember my Gen 2 and 3 when they were derestricted, unleashing the beast inside.

With this one it?s going to be like ?VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO? lol.

As you will know, by the time you get to 9k its mental, everything after that is just cream. But its doesn?t just spin up and throw you at the horizon like the vtec solution, the power is very linear so you can just about see the edge of the world coming before you soil yourself.

Haha, love it and looking forward to it apart from the soiling! :D

I am so looking forward to getting out, SOOOOOON, i take delivery tomorrow but dont see me getting out any time soon, with so much salt about, anyways, my dilemma is, regarding engine cover etc, i was thinking of purchasing the GB racing cover kit, however, looking a how lovely the bronze covers look it would be such a shame to cover in black plastic and yes i know cost of covers outways replacing an OEM cove, but, the bronze covers just add to the beauty of the bike.

I have the gb covers but haven?t fitted them for the reason you mention. Defo required for any tracktime. Dont worry about a bit of salt, just hose it down after if you are concerned. With all the stuff that?s going on, carpe diem!
