Removing the tankpad.

Do you just need heat (hair dryer or more powerful?) and fingernails to remove the tank pad? + Isopropyl/white spirit to clean up the residue?

I need to replace my red one with a black or clear one.

I took my BMW tank pad off last week, didn't bother with anything, just pulled it off gradually, no issues.

Wouldn't say that. Paint quality is poor. Definitely apply hairdryer
