Do you just need heat (hair dryer or more powerful?) and fingernails to remove the tank pad? + Isopropyl/white spirit to clean up the residue?

I need to replace my red one with a black or clear one.

I took my BMW tank pad off last week, didn't bother with anything, just pulled it off gradually, no issues.

Knowing my luck of late I'll take the paint with me. No reply from Farid at SBK yet :(

Yes, you are quite wise to think that, I agree about the paint, just sayin' :) . Keep chasing Farid, he must be busy or something.
