Finally managed to get a little time away from the family to arrange a test ride. Rang Williams Manchester on Thursday morning to book a bike for 9am today. Turned up on time, asked for the recommended sales person who took a copy of my licence then started scratching his head wondering where the demo bike was. Came back after a few mins and told me bike had been sold ( nobody had informed me)
Wasted Saturday morning ( I rarely get weekend time to myself ) , I walked out, customer lost, sale lost..

@powders, don't fancy long round trip to another dealer for servicing etc , so probably buy a 1299.

@JimmyMac, didn't mention the name in my post but yes it was. (Mentioned your name as a recommendation.. I appreciate your efforts, it's just one of those things)

That's fair enough
Best of luck with the new bike
Think the 1299 is by far the best looking bike I've ever seen , your a lucky man

That's a bummer Rosso, but what's for you won't go past you. It'll all work out and nobodies hurt.

Good luck with your search.

JimmyMac

i've got a 2015 in storm black for sale if interested. Sport but no performance pack.

Dave Foster! i wouldnt like to comment here!!

Good luck with the 1299 Rosso, As said in another post, great looking bike, should i be a little jelous....

Have you rode the 1299 ? I had a 1199 for 3 year loved it ride the 12 , had to take our a second demo as could not believe it could be so bad sorry but worst bike I've ever rode stunning to look at tho

Whats terrible about the 1299? All the press have have been banging on about how good it is compared to the the 1199, not ridden either so interested in what you think

That's why I took second one out for test ride could not believe I was on same bike the testers were riding . Over last 6 years I've had s1000 , blade , Big Bang r1 . 1199 currently zx10 poss new s1000 coming . 1299 is undoubtedly the worst bike I've ever been on . Bike was un rideable at low speeds at higher speeds unstable . Tests left me puzzled must be some serious back handlers going out from Ducati to testers !

Bugger!, was adamant that I was going to go the 1299 route after my weekend fiasco but you lot have just made my s1000rr itch, itchy again. Really not bothered who I buy the bike from, my next nearest dealer is Chester, so will try to arrange a test ride on my next day off..( Will def give Preston a go if I get on with the bike- cheers Jimmy)

Good man, I can understand your anger at the afore mentioned dealer but that doesn't make the RR any less incredible to own, get that test ride booked!

Gents, apologies for a post after so many months. At the start of the year I was contemplating either a 1299 or the RR. I picked up a new 1299 just over 6 months ago & after 6.5 k miles & 5 warranty repairs I think I've finally cracked. The bike is superb when it's on song but simply spends too much time at the dealers. Quite simply, I f*d up & made the wrong choice.

I use it as a daily but every time it gets properly wet ( riding in torrential rain) something electrical goes Pete tong on it. Contemplating cutting my losses & plunging for the RR. The 17 colour schemes don't work for me so looking at a new ( if there are any are around) or pre-Reg 16. Anybody use one as a daily? Any problems with tsunami weather riding ? General reliability with heavy use?

( For reference & IMHO, If anybody ( or anybody you know) is contemplating buying a panigale ( any variant) and they intend to use it for anything other than a fair weather Sunday bike , tell them avoid to avoid it like an electrical gremlin plague - they will die a long , slow, painful death - unless of course you don't like them in which case give them a lift to the nearest Ducati showroom)

Cheers.

Hi Rosso
Gutted for you
I do absolutely love the look of the panigale, by far the nicest looking bike I've seen
There's a few of us on here that commute all year round
I do on an '11
I've never had any issues with the rain causing any problems and I live in Ireland ( there's a reason everything is so green over here, it never stops bleedin raining)
I find it expensive as a commuter, it's a bmw after all but if your use to ducati prices I'm sure it's similar
