Main cost is for a frame where the Bung has been bent backwards and so this would have damaged the frame??

It really is ironic that a product designed for crash protection causes so much carnage.

If the frame is damaged a write off is very likely, new bike :). Of course you'll need new forum stickers, please add them to the claim, ?1k each? ;).

Indeed - that has not been lost on me as I consider what to put on the '17, as apparently the Lightech's I had do not fit. There's should be more of a 'sprung' option.

Result Immortal, great that she admitted all liability. Let us know the assessment costs, I bet it will make you wince.

Mystic Meg reckons you'll not get your bike back, deffo a write off as they will get more than the difference from new in a salvage auction, labour hasn't even been factored in.
keep a hold of that loaner bike, it will give you leverage with the insurance co.
Feel for you Immortal, **** situation but you came away with no injuries.

Not sure what you mean....?

I did not use the recommended company "4th Dimension".... I took it to a BMW dealer....to get a private assessment done.... I can collect my bike anytime after paying for the inspection cost.... When I rode it there, the dealer just gave me the loan bike... he said it works out to about ?10 day.... that said, I was planning to take the loan bike back and collecting mine...and then approaching 4th dimension for a loan bike...

I thought your insurance had given you the loaner whilst yours was getting an appraisal. In my experience insurance companies work faster if you are racking them up a big rental bill for a courtesy bike/car.

Best of luck.

So, just back from Bahnstormer... about a 4 week turnaround to fix everything.....

Am I right in thinking that the ladies insurance is paying ?9500+ for parts and then the BMW labour rate to fix your bike Immortal?

At that price they would surely write it off.

As it done 8k miles, they estimated my bike between ?10-?12k....so I guess this is the best result for me..??

Right then immortal....

You must be in some sort of physical pain seeing everyone else out on their bikes, so the question is, when is your bike repaired and back in your ownership? It must be feeling like an age but can't be far off?

So, final update I hope.... Been told the bike will be ready on Friday... but work is getting in the way so I will collect it Saturday and have a play too....

More pictures to keep my MOJO up...
