At the end of the day Gixxer's old bike is just a bike. The point he wanted to make is that he sold it for ?6500 so paying more than that is making the guy a quick profit.
Its entirely your choice to buy it or not. The bike worked, was serviced and there was no thought of getting rid, until it was stolen.
If you just want the bike and don't care about what happened to it, then go for it. Just don't pay too much and don't try to rip someone off in future.

I bought bike new, happy days, thieving scrote stole, sad days. Sold for 6500 with quote of 6800 to put back to new. Frame has not been repaired buy person who bought from me (Eddie). He's done about ?600 tops to fix and wants 9500 for it. If a ******* want to pay it then more fool them.
He never told me he was a dealer. It also needs the valves servicing in the 32k service so around ?700. Frame is untested following theft breaking steering lock, so look around ?3k to replace this. This is why I sold it for 6500 cos i'm not a thieving barsteward!
