I went for a test 15 mile round trip late this afternoon. Think it was around 5c. Much of the journey was slow filtering / waiting in traffic. On the GSA with heated grips on full blast, all my gear on. It was ******* cold and I couldn't wait for it to end. I'm still cold now ffs.

I don't know how people ride about when it's as cold as this. Well done if you do.

Did 80 miles at 4 deg c on the GSA today, Asda thermals, RST adventure kit and heated grips on high - nice and warm.

I remember doing the RTTW last year and I left at 4 or 5 in the morning. Went 100+ miles through freezing fog with just summer gloves on though the Lake district on the M6. Took a few days for the pain in my thumbs to subside. Normally ride in minus figures during the winter on the GSA but I don't really take the HP4 out if it is below freezing, more for traction concerns than comfort. I'm not generally bothered by the cold but my wife thinks I'm half eskimo.

Used to commute year round, so well below freezing. As the saying goes "no such thing as bad weather - just the wrong clothing" or words to that effect.

No it's not for me either. The bikes away till Spring, it's a toy not a chore.

Did 70 miles in the rain and 5 deg C cold this morning on a loan GS and my own GSA on top of the 80 miler yesterday after a service fiasco at a certain friendly but not very thorough BMW dealer, the second time out of 4 visits this has happened so will be going somewhere else for the S1000's spring service. Still quite enjoyed the ride, the latest GS heated grips are something else, had to turn them down!

I wussed out today for my 240 mile round trip to the HQ. car, coffee and heated bum. Got caught in a bit of traffic but I'd rather that than riding in the sleet and snow.

I wouldn't normally ride in temps below 6c, although, tmrw I am on a London BikeSafe day (freebie) it will be 4c at 7am when I leave and it will be a balmy 8c by lunchtime. Looking forward to it.
Oh and btw, I will be on my 1050 Tiger with heated grips :encouragement:
