Probs wouldn't affect compression unless oil is in cylinder then power would be affected.
I didn't notice blue smoke coming out the exhaust either.
But I knew it was under powering so had to have it sorted especially being a new bike.

It's not a valve seal it's a valve stem seal which is rubber (prob composite) which stops the minutest amount of lubricant running up the stem into combustion chamber, as it gets worse so it shows as smoke out the can. Can't see how it affects compression.

Yes, for what it's worth, I agree with bananaman. For any real amount of oil to get down the valve stems and affect combustion, the valve guides and seals would have to be well worn.....but on a new bike, no I wouldn't think so! And the affected seals would have to be on the inlet side too. I would have thought that if they suspected low compression, the first thing they would have done was a wet and a dry compression test, to try to determine whether the fault was with pistons or valves. Interesting topic though HPlogger, please keep us posted:encouragement:

I feel fobbed off now, can't see myself buying another bmw after the **** I've had to put up with and all the lies from the dealers and garage.

No, don't feel like that just yet HP. Let Allan Jefferies work their magic on it and see what happens! They are a good team there and will work to resolve your issues, I'm sure. I have had nothing but first class service from them since I bought my S 1000 RR a year ago.

Made me feel bad now for posting:moody:

I've had nothing but trouble with Bowkers which gave me a real bad impression, its not your fault.
Jefferies told me that they suspected lower compression in combustion chamber. They investigated the problem and told me two stem seals are leaking, Jefferies are going to replace them and build the bike back up and return bike to me. Now I don't know whether that was the issue or not!

This is the power run Jefferies did comparing my bike to the demo bike.

Could it be the traction control system holding the bike back?

The fact that it follows the power curve of the other RR seems strange. If it was a compression issue would the curve not change?

Perhaps AJ have done a compression test. But what you have said so far, leads me to think that they have taken off the cylinder head. They have to start the valve removal process to access the stem seals. Perhaps they could examine the valves at the time of replacing the seals? Perhaps they could lightly lap them in and re-check the valve clearances on re assembly? Presumably they will replace all 16 stem seals as a precaution that you don't have the same trouble later on, so all 16 valves could be looked at at the same time?? (that's if the head is indeed off!) If you feel you need to speak to some one there, other than the workshop receptionist or whoever, try giving Michael Lyon a call, and tell him of your worries. I believe he is one of the owners there and is a first class guy! He will help you and put your mind at rest, and what he says he'll do, he will do.

Hey HP - don't loose faith just yet. AJ will do the right thing and get you the right outcome. I think you have been a bit unlucky as most owners don't have these issues.

I know Michael, he is the service manager and the person with whom I set up the forum discount deal with, really good guy. I expect he will already know about your case, he certainly knows about the forum ;).

I remember Michael Neeve had an issue with either his project HP4 or the Prime Factor 2015 RR. The rear sensor was showing that the rear wheel was moving 500% quicker than the front so the TC system was dragging the bike back. It ended up being a chaffed wire in the loom. Hopefully its something that simple.

To be honest I don't think that I would even miss 12 BHP. The bike's that fast it could end up killing me, or even worse, could cause me to loose my driving licence:dread:

No but seriously HP, what soof said:courage:

AJ have said all the electrics are in perfect working order, doubt they would miss anything like that. Am sure dyno guys know what they're doing and would turn off the TC and abs.

AJ have the cylinder head off and found two leaking stem seals.

Obviously once rebuilt, I trust they will redyno it to prove the fix?
