Hi folks
Short version: I ordered a new S1000RR Sport & Perf. Pack last week and get it the week after next.
Slightly longer version: I have been riding for years and have a 2003 Aprilia RSV-R that I have been all round Europe on several times. Thing is I haven't been riding it much this last couple of years.
I bought an S1000XR to commute on last year and its COMPLETELY TREMENDOUS. Recently I decided I needed to swap the Ape for something I might use and after much deliberation tried an R9T Urban GS. It was nice but whilst riding it I realised a) I have no tattoos, b) I don't suit beards, c) I don't live in Hackney, d) I don't run an artisanal micro brewery. Also it was a bit dull to ride.
I then had a thought. Whilst my Aprilia is hard work after my XR a friend said ages ago "try an S1000RR and I guarantee you will buy one" so I thought better try one before I swap my beloved RSV-R. My test ride was last Monday and FFS what a bike!!!!!! Much comfier than my RSV, dead easy to ride, the toys are lovely and good lord its quick. Thirty minutes later I agreed a trade in on the Aprilia and I cannot wait to get my new toy.
I am genuinely gob-smacked at how accomplished and all round wonderful the S1000RR is. Just amazing. I thought at 57 maybe I was getting a bit old and stiff for this sports bike malarky. Not at all, I just need a bonkersly good one!!
Bring it on!!!!
