Hi Everybody ... (Hi Dr. Nick),

I just took delivery of my 2015 RR today. One very happy dude :) Motorsport colours, 5k miles, with all the bells and whistles on. I have the coding plug (although I don't know what to do with it, or why I need it) as well.

I just need to learn how to ride it now!

Traded my '08 Fazer FZ1-s against it. Gotta say, just took the RR to fill it up this afternoon and holy crap, what a difference! My old bike wasn't slow by any means, but this thing goes like a scalded rat!

Looking forward to learning more about this machine, learning to ride it as it should be and putting a smile on this ugly mug of mine :)

Freudy.

Funny I'd forgotten about Dr Nick, now on family guy and American dad.

Welcome to the forum. The coding plug goes under the rider seat and enables all the modes, for the '15 I think it'll add slick and user modes.

Enjoy :).

Soof meant he doesn't watch that any more ;)

Ahem... Welcome Freudy - get the coding plug in then you can use USER mode to define the bike more to your tastes.
Are you a road rider only or will you take it on track?

I'm a road rider only .. although I do expect that Father Christmas is going to bring me a track day voucher soon. I've been round Donnington on my 1st bike, a 1991 ZZR600 almost 20 years ago, but never been on the smooth stuff since. Lost a lot of confidence when I bought an R1 brand new in 1999 and almost binned it 4 weeks later with oil over the back tyre, never regained it since, but hoping to dust off those cobwebs.

Track time is the best way to get confidence as there's nothing to really worry about except where you're going. I first got into it via the evening sessions at Snetterton
