I had a little tumble on my race bike and was wondering what exhausts people are using on there track race bikes.

Mine has a mivv full system on it and tbh for the money its good and does the job. The main thing is it blows 99db with no baffle which is perfect for track.

I've been looking at the arrow competition system but the can looks a bit small so thinking it might be loud. Does anyone have the arrow system and know
how loud it is?

I've looked at the akrapovic but tbh i think they look plop and prefer the older style systems with the strap. Is there any other options people might recomend
ideally under 105db without a baffle

Cheers

Mark

just get the long akro with carbon long can. job done. without baffle its under 105db and with its under 98db.

Akrapovič

I would highly recommend any of the Akrapovič full systems for the 2015/16 model. If you prefer the versions with the carbon fibre loop bracket you can always opt to purchase the slip-on and headers separately. I have a HP Race Power Kit fitted to my track only S1000RR which is superb and I've not had any issues with regards to static or drive-by noise testing.

Yeah i had a akra on my 2012 road bike and r6 race bike. They are good quality systems but i'm just not keen on them for the gen 3. The separate option would be ok but the can is mahooooooosive. What i really wanted was the bsb spec system but its a fortune and wont fit on a standard bike.

I would speak to MHP exhausts.

Many years experience building race systems.
I had a custom baffle for my Akra full titanium system (race team version didn't come with one) made by him, adjustable and it was only for TD's under 102.

Great priced and he's used as a BSB exhaust repair specialist. He can make you what you want to the size and sound limit you want.

Heck he can repair your mashed system from your off

Akrapovič

Once fitted the Akrapovič exhausts on the full race systems aren't actually that large. Pictured below is my HP Race Power Kit which was supplied by BMW. The 2015/16 Akrapovič systems, which no longer use a carbon fibre loop bracket, are a similar length but feature a more tapered design and are slightly slimmer. Performance wise they are identical.

I had looked at the Arrow Competition Evo for mine as well, but apparently it's one of the loudest systems you can get at around 115db IIRC. It comes with a baffle but runs lower than stock power with it fitted.

It's a shame because I think it's the best looking exhaust for the S1KRR.

Arrow

The Arrow Competition EVO and Competition full systems are very different to each other. The latter is used by a lot of the BMW teams running in British Superstock; most notably the Buildbase BMW team.

Yeah it was the competition not the evo i was looking at. Its a higher level can but smaller than the likes of the akra.

Yeah i might look into theakra header and can separate option. Think i prefer the arrow but have a feeling its going to be to loud

Exhausts

The Arrow Competition full system will most likely be fine for race use especially as race meet noise limits are generally 105 dB. My only concern fitting that particular system would be if I wanted to use the bike on trackdays for practice prior to an event and run the risk of failing 102 dB noise testing. I went for the Akrapovič system as they are traditionally quite quiet even without a baffle fitted.

Yeah i know. Most track days i go to are 105db but they seem to be getting more and more strict with the noise and more of them are dropping to 102. I was considering buying the arrow then getting an mhp can for quiet days but would be a waste buying the arrow if it wouldnt even pass the 105 limit.

Arrow

You may want to contact B&C Express, Arrow's UK distributor, as they have technical data available for all of Arrow's race systems and will be able to give you the dB measurements. It will help you make an informed decision as to which race system to go for.

Already been in touch with them. They just said that the competition system complies with bsb rules of 107db. Plus I've been there before when a exhaust manufacturer states Xdb and in reality they are way over what they say they are

Akrapovič

With that in mind an Akrapovič race system is probably the best option.
