Gearbox whine

As above, noticed a distinct whine if I roll on in 6th, 85through to 95 mph. Thought it was something next to me at first but changing to 5th and back to 6th confirmed this. Anyone else notice?

I've not had this problem but bike has only got 1,200miles so far.

Can't say I noticed the whine, but then isn't there always a bit of whine type noise with the jap 4's

I wear ear plugs but didn't today as I was going through town. I didn't want to chance going down the dual carriageway with a nail in my tyre.
I must admit that the engine is a bit rattely almost sounding like a Ducati at times?! If it wasn't new I'd have concerns about what I just bought.
ill put the ear plugs in again.

Hahaha me too Loupe...Its a noisy lump for sure, but like you say, with plugs sounds ok

Sometimes whines due to chain tension or lack of lube. Check that, but have heard same on mine too.

Yeah mine has a whine in 6th,so did my blade from new and that did 22k miles making the noise ,so I'm not worried !!
