Gap between swingarm and spacer?

Hi. Does anyone know if there should be a gap between the swingarm and spacer in the rear wheel? I noticed last night that there's about 5mm which seems a bit wrong to me. This disappears when the wheel nut is torqued up, but I think that could damage the swingarm.

Has anyone else noticed a gap?

To add, I've got forged wheels ona Gen 3 bike with Spider Captive spacers, which appear to be correct in size.

Had this problem when I change wheels (cast and forged) between tyres. Spacers are different but cant remember which way round

No, had me worried having to wind the nut up more than usual therefore putting the swingarm under more stress....

There will usually be a small gap which is taken up when the axle nut is torqued
