Extended BMW Warranty

My bike is coming up to 2 years old and this morning BMW's extended warranty letter drop through the letter box.

You can get a personal quote via a web link using a pin number provided (which I have not done yet). The letter offers an example costing which includes:
- BMW warranty
- BMW Emergency Service (optional)
- £100 excess

Cost is £310.

I thought I would post as I'm interested to see what people think about the price. The excess can be £0, £50 or £100 which will impact the premium, as will taking the Emergency service.

That's cheaper than I heard, rumour it was around the £500 mark for an extra year.

I won't be taking it out on mine. It's an inline 4 with chain. A 12 GS would have me extending it for life though!!

That's £310 annually! If you pay monthly, it's £29. Which works out to be £348 - that's a good APR (for BMW) .

£620 for a 2 year Warranty and the Bike depreciating faster than a fast thing, if one includes having to pay say £500 + for a Large service at 18K miles I might be tempted to put that £1120 towards a new one, especially if timed right.

Got mine in the post today and the wording is suggesting that one takes up the warranty. Its just an Insurance Policy which in my mind is OTT in price.....

Now where did I put those Swan Vesta's ;D
