Best Number of teeth on rear sprocket upgrade

Will be changing my rear tyre soon and whilst the rear wheel is out want to upgrade the rear sprocket, std is 45 but what?s recommended to go up to staying on std front sprocket

Fairly pointless unless you are changing the front sprocket size as well.

Doesn't the 23 bike have an extra tooth on the rear sprocket?

If you fit a bigger rear sprocket without a smaller front sprocket you'll shorten the wheelbase fractionally as well as making it more accelerative. This will mean it has a higher tendency to wheelie. We're talking percentages, per Ryan's comment above you probably won't notice a single tooth change enough to make it worthwhile.

It is a good idea to change both sprockets and chain at the same time. A 16 tooth front will make it much more lively, but that will increase the RPM at cruising speeds.

Directionally most usually want a longer wheelbase for more stability.

and for general rule of thumb, -1 on the front is about +2.7 teeth on the rear, plus you wont need to change chain length doing the front, rear at 3 teeth you will.
