Easy question for those in the know, I've not used the 2016 for 4 weeks now and thought I'd best charge the battery before attempting to start. It does have the bmw alarm installed. All I've done is taken the seat off, and attached an optional mate to the terminals using crocodile clips. It all looks fine, but should I have detached the bike terminals first? The manual is not clear but assumes that you are taking the battery out of the bike to charge. Just thinking about the onboard electronics....
Any advice/reassurance welcome.
thanks!

If you using an optimate it will fine,I've got one of the permanent connection leads under the rear seat so it's easier.
