Auto dusk light?

Does the 15 RR have an auto light for the dash? I've been on a few times and the dash has lit up when under tree cover then switched off and on again while riding at dusk on the open road.
I tapped the dash a few times as I wasn't sure if it was working properly?!

Yes. Page 20 of the owners manual details a photosensor ('for adapting the brightness of the instrument lighting').

Does anyone know how to turn this display on?

I assume it is automatic with no option to turn on/off?
