Hi,

I have a Zenith Full Hunter 14k Gold antique pocket watch. I'm looking to sell it and put money towards a nice watch for myself. Does anyone have knowledge of these or know someone looking to buy. I had it on ebay a few years ago and thinking of relisting again, I'm thinking ?1000 would be a fair price. Any feedback appreciated.

No Knowledge of these Simon but it is a nice item all the same.
I would take it to 2 or 3 jewellers to get a feel for the value, tell them you need an appraisal for insurance because if you say you are looking to sell the valuation might be on the low side.

Hi Simon,
I just saw this post. The watch is nice and there is a market for them but unfortunately it would probably have to be an Antique dealer who had a client looking for one who would buy it.
Criminal though it may seem, most pocket watches, cigarette cases or snuff boxes brought in to shops will only be valued on the gold content and burst to reclaim the metal.
I recently had to burst a pair of men’s 18ct Zenith watches as there was no interest after several months. I sent them as complete watches to the refining company but they sent me a cheque and 2 movements back...
Yours is a little more specialised and I’d urge you to join a watch forum for Zenith/ and or pocket watches and see what feedback you get there.
You will reach your target audience on these forums and members will guide and assist you,and quite possibly buy it at a fair Market price.
If nothing else, you will be armed with more information if you have to sell on eBay in the future.
Sorry I can’t give you any more info on the actual watch but it’s not my Market.
