Hey guys,

just got my 2015 S1000rr out from the garage from winter storage and notice what look like crack or fractures in the speedo screen? The bike hasn't moved or had anything touch it so its bazaare.

Any idea what's caused this?

Can it be easily replaced?

I cracked it once. Buy a Chinese case off eBay and just replace it. It's a bit of work with screwdriver but all in all 80gbp. New assembly would be around 400gbp.

I had one replaced by AJ under warranty as a good will gesture though it was well out of warranty at the time. Not cracked but had the dreaded white dust inside. I had some paperwork for the job and seem to recall the price for the assembly was about ?700 to ?800.
On top of that the unit had to be set up electronically. Total bill about ?900.00.

Interesting idea. How easy was it to remove the old screen? Assume the speedo cluster has to be removed and taken apart?

Im going to ask my local dealer. Scratching my head as to how this has happened, the bikes been stored safely and im the only one that's been in and out the garage since I put it away

I can't see your photo, but I had the instrument cluster 'glass' crack spontaneously on my gen 2 without any impacts of any kind.

I tried to get it repaired under extended warranty but claim was refused. There is a replacement clock glass kit available for about 200 GBP. I got this and had BMW fit. It would be an easy DIY job if you are careful.

It was relatively easy, but you have to be careful as everything is plastic and can break. Do not force anything, just spend you time unplugging everything and replugging back again.

You have you take the cluster off the bike yes.

Very easy and straight forward to replace..I bought a screen kit from BMW and took about 10 mins to fit. I damaged mine when i had an off it got scratched
