    Erratic idle/Knocking noise

No worries , probably some water in fuel. Drain it all out and put in fresh from a busy petrol station, should be fine. Water is not so good at combusting and can cause knocks and erratic idle.

    problem checklist for '11 S1000?

I know a fellow ower that has 50,000 plus miles and no out of the ordinary maintenance.

    Replacement RR

Whoa . That is a serious amount of bugs on that helmet. Better not open that visor while riding, you would end up choking a pound of those things if you did.

    Oil Leak

I am surprised how quickly the sump corrodes. Mine is already corroded. I do not ride that much when there is salt on the road and I wash down the MC with cold water, like the manual states ,after each ride when there is salt on the road. Why is it BMW has not improved this? It has been a...

    Good tip.

    Oil Leak

Yes , every time you tighten it the drain plug gasket compresses. It should always be torqued once, if you have to loosen it to drain oil replace it.

    2015 S1000rr - Right Turn Assist Pro!

How about just unclipping the black plastic piece it runs through on the top clamp. I believe it just plugs in there with a little force it should release.

    farewell s1000rr

Don't do it! You are already having doubts. It will cost you more money to switch and then switch back . It sounds like you are going to do that anyway. Do some lower back exercises that will help as it does for me. I have had two vertebrae compression fractures and I still ride an HP 4. Trust...

    2015 1st crash?

Second that. It is sad we all have to protect ourselves from cell phone occupied idiots on the road who do not understand motorcycles. Gopro is our only protection these days.

    2015 S1000rr - Right Turn Assist Pro!

If you go on the BMW S1000rr forum based out of the US , you will see this issue has been gone over and over. A shorter , more compliant, less stiff cable is the cure. Motion pro can fabricate one for you if you would like to pay for it. Otherwise BMW is going to take their ever so slow time...

Opinions please - Bike Change Maybe?

They make an inflatable belt to wear around your lower back designed by an Asian doctor. It effectively takes all pressure off of the discs- problem solved.

HP rear sets benefits and changing gear

I would get the HP rearsets. They offer adjustability and they are more durable than the basic versions. They also imprive the shifting as the shifter is on bearings rather than the sloppy bushing of the original. Same for the brake pedal. The ability to raise , lower , extend , or contract the...

    Wunderlich Titanium

I like how they share the same color as the engine and they do not have any large company logos sticking out. This will make them look like they belong there and not an ugly appendage.

    Cleaning forged wheels

I would not use WD-40 on painted anything . It has a petroleum base. It is too caustic for that. I would use BMW wheel cleaner gel and water. Wd-40 works well for cleaning the chain though.

Metal Filings on sump plug magnet

Yes , you want to siphon the extra oil out as you will end up losing too much oil trying to drain it the other way. In addition you really do not want to re-use the drain plug gasket as it is a one time use. I always put in 3.5 and then warm it up and go for a ride after checking for leaks. This...
