Whats the concensus on the rear cluster...mine is looking really grubby...what are these after market ones like...anyone bought and fitted one.

I'm going to pull off my grab rail and clean up the under tray, the rest of the bike looks mint..I'll buy a new reg plate, dont really want to spend much more tbh...

Heres where I'm at so far..... some of the body panels I bought between 1 and 2 years ago

Add in my ramp circa 420 and Harris F and R stands circa 220 and it's getting to the expensive stage....

I've got an integrated rear light Stuart with the indicators inside, lasts as long as an OEM one as far as looking mint goes, always going to get little marks from the stones the rear tyre throws up, BMW or not.

If you were getting the under tray painted I'd say change it, otherwise relax and ride it.

Sound Jimmy... was it a ****** one.. I've seen them for 40 quid upwards. Any links ?

I think that tray will clean up.. I canny be bothered pulling it all apart...but I'll whip off the cluster and look it over..it is badly chipped as you say..

Cheers the nooo

This is the first one I bought:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2018-17-20...1000RR&hash=item569b6a2f5e:g:troAAOSwVuFbaphT

Thought I would pay more to get one from Canada ( better quality? ) instead of the Chinese ones which are about ?40

When it arrived it was actually from China, bit pissed off at being misled so told them it hadn't arrived and got full refund, lasted two years before getting small hole in it from a stone, still worked though.

Then replaced by a ?40 one from China, still perfect 3 years later.

Lots on eBay for less then ?40.

Jimmy... they are likely all made in China tbh...

Straightforward fit...or are resistors involved.
Cheers

Plug and play if you're only interesting in the brake light like I was.

Integrating the indicators is more involved and I prefer to have oem ones.

Got it at 45 quid... keeps it simple.. OE.. and a minter ..

You should have asked, I?ve got new OEMs in my cave. ?45 is a good price though.

The wiring is very straightforward for the integrated one too. Even I managed it lol.

Bikes looking sweet Stuart

Need to buy a 5 mil Allen key on a 3/8" drive socket... the footpegs holding on my grab rail are solid... long Allen key was starting to chew up the heads...

So moved on to re-fitting mirrors, wiped smudges off my new screen, polished tank and replaced tank cover with brand new one, side panels and belly pan all buttoned up with new fasteners... tomorrow purge old fluid out front calipers that'll be the front finished ..

All finished lads !......

Marathon session tonight... Dalkeith called me today (Wed).....we're picking your bike up today (Thu)... ffs...

I still had to purge old fluid....remove grab rail...and whilst tail tidy was off clean up undertray and fit new rear light cluster....

What a total f.uck about, thinking I'll get the piss easy stuff out the way and as per earlier post, I wasted at least 1.5 - 2hrs hrs...thinking I'd rolled a M/C seal or my fluid was saturated, I eventually decided to move on to the arse end and return to the front brakes later, as I removed my safety cloths covering the bars and tank the M/C bleed nipple came into view.. bingo...must have dropped fluid below feed hole !.....took me 2 seconds to bleed..

Grab rail was another total *****... I would have had to unravel self amalgamating tape to expose number plate light connection..no mean feat... I decided to cut through the rail base with a junior and leave wiring intact..remounting the Evotech tail tidy the mounting bolts were now roughly 10mil too long !... had nothing suitable lying around so ran a couple of nuts up each mounting bolt, nipped up in the vice and lopped off 10 mil each...had to use some mild steel penny washers to mount the bolts in the interim.... fitted light cluster... plugged in indicators..checked all operational and put everything back together... finished 12.30 ... what a ******* headache !....

Anyhow gave her a wipe down.. I got to say she looks pretty good..going to ask them for a chop in price...

I reckon after the service they could wheel it straight into the show room it's that clean... what do yous think ?...
