Why is it that if I come to the forum via my phone or tablet it remembers who I am and automatically logs me in, but if I do it on my laptop or PC it forces me to go to the login.... As soon as I click in they know the user name and PW, just interested why they make me do this when mobile devices don't?

(I have no interest in using tapatalk, or whatever it's called, just in case anyone suggests it)

Any ideas?

Cheers

Is your bookmark going to HTTP or HTTPS? I think if you click on an HTTP link it tends to not link the session. Also have you ticked the Remember Me on login?

What browser you using on your lappie or PC Rick.. I gravitated to chrome from Firefox and I still need to sign in but all I need to do is click on the field and it prepopulates the username and password..

EDIT: Tapatalk is brilliant if your out and about and want to fire on some images via your phone.. it's the easiest thing.

I had the same problem but I tend to use a variety of 'puters / tablets. When i do have the situation you describe, i just click on the 'Whats New' button and loh and behold, i'm logged in and 'remembered' .. give it a try - it might work for you too.

My little firm does a lot of web programming and there's no such thing as a 'standard' that browsers 100% adhere to .. makes the dev guys jobs that bit more interesting :)

Thanks to your comments I have worked it out. My (Chrome) bookmark didn't have the https (I created it manually), whereas on my mobile devices i tend to just type in s100... and it finds the right URL for me! Now that I have added https to bookmark it it seem to work fine.

Cheers!
