Hi,
I picked up my new 2017 s1000rr at the beginning of April. What a machine, I've nearly covered 600 mile and the first service is all booked in.
Fitted an evotech tail tidy, front fork & rear bobbins.
Bike colour is grey & black.
Theres some really good threads on this forum, great tips & info.
I'll post a pic when i'm permitted
Cheers for the welcome

Hi, welcome to the forum:).

Glad to read you enjoy it on here, look forward to some pics in due course.

Thanks. I've got some good pics, looking forward to posting them when i'm permitted.
How long before i get permission to post them?
I've been looking for a slip on exhaust but as its a new model the market is empty.

Welcome RR, you've bought the right litre bike and I love that colour scheme. I believe akra have a road and race (get that one!) slip on's out for the '17 bike?

Yeah spoke to a Akra dealer today and apparently they are behind on manufacturing the exhausts for the 2017 model. They'll be out around mid May.

The timing may be good as my first service is on the 12th. Its just a huge standard exhaust i look at every time i open the garage.

Got an Austin GP1 on my '15 bike, looks and sound superb, might also be worth checking them out for the '17RR

Hello and welcome, you are correct regarding AKra as they are running a bit late.... there are options out there though... Austin have full and end cans out. Had one on my R1 and are a good sound, and look good imo... but expensive. A 2016 full system will fit our bikes, so quite a few options on that front.... I have looked at a link pipe and 2016 end can, and will keep you posted on this. AR Gp1r is around 850 for the can vs 1100 for a full AKra system .... I really want to decat and the only way to totally do this, is with a full system... but once I get the price for the link pipe I may use this option for now... as other mods that need cash .... Hi RR, you will really enjoy the bike after the 600 mile service but I'm sure you are having lots of fun just now.

Welcome to the site.

Welcome to the forum bud... where about are you based? If you are smiling now, wait until after the service..... enjoy !!

Wink, wink indeed! Might have been tempted over the winter lay off as I'd previously whipped it off the bike for a track day and hadn't re-fitted it. Alas (for you) its back on and looking and sounding the business again. Your only hope is that I fall for the Superduke I'm taking out tomorrow and sell the S1K rather than my GSA ;)
